WELCOME

Hi, my name is Lucy and I hail from the Czech Republic. I grew up surrounded by excellent cooks, my mom and my grandma. As such, I was used to a homemade meal every day. When I settled down in the US and got married, that’s exactly how I ran my household despite a full time job.

I don’t have any culinary education, nor have I ever taken any cooking courses. Cooking and baking are simply my passion and my form of art. I am self taught, inspired by my mom and grandma. I worked for several years as a restaurant manager, but ultimately ended up a full-time paralegal and part-time cook, using my family and friends as ever-so-eager- test subjects.

I started this blog to document my escapades in the kitchen and to prove to everyone that cooking is easy and for everyone. At the same time, I needed a place to organize all my recipes and ideas in one, easily accessible place. I consider myself an average cook, and I’m sure that everyone can cook any of my recipes. Most of them are quickie type of recipes for every-day life. I like to browse farmers markets in my spare time for locally grown fruits and vegetables and love to utilize the bounty of my small garden; however, I concentrate on from-the-scratch cooking that doesn’t break the bank and doesn’t follow latest food trends. I just concentrate on sharing good food with good people. My recipes reflect my approach to life and cooking.

As I hail from the Czech Republic, where I was born and raised, but settled in the United States when I met my husband (very American), I would call my cooking style International Mosh-Posh. I draw inspiration from not only my background, but also love to experiment with all kinds of cuisines.

I have no photography skills or experience, so that will be the biggest hurdle to overcome. I will guarantee that most, if not all, my food will taste better that it will look in photos, but I promise to work on that and improve…

I will be glad to hear from you and appreciate any feedback I can get. I will also try my best in accommodating any recipe or special interest requests. Feel free to leave questions below any recipe so that other readers can see it and my response. Thank you for reading and good luck in your own cooking endeavors.

Love Lucy
